Red wine–Chocolate cake

 

Preparation time: 30 minutes

Difficulty: simple

Yield: One loaf tin

 

Ingredients:

  • 350 g spelt flour
  • 225 g corn sugar
  • 50 g cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1,5 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground cloves
  • Pinch of salt
  • 50 g dark chocolate (low fructose)
  • 350 ml red wine (low fructose)
  • 170 ml sunflower oil
  • 2 eggs

Directions:

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees
  2. Grease and line a 30 cm loaf tin
  3. Beat the red wine, oil and eggs together
  4. Mix the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, cinnamon, cloves and salt together and add bit by bit to the red wine. Mix well
  5. Roughly chop the chocolate and add to the cake batter
  6. Pour the batter in to the loaf tin and bake for approx. 50 minutes
  7. Remove from the oven and leave to cool before serving
  8. If wished, serve with whipped cream 😊
